BOULDER CUP / FAQ
Good questions.
A few things to know before your next leap.
How do I play?
Drag back from the climber to aim, then release to jump in the opposite direction. The dotted arc previews your leap. Catch the next hold and keep moving upward before the wall carries you out of view.
How does scoring work?
Each new hold scores once: a small teal hold is worth 100 points, a medium gold hold 50, and a large purple hold 10. Returning to an already-caught hold does not add points. These are the current development-build rules and may be tuned before release.
Is there a leaderboard?
Yes. One shared online table ranks the three highest individual runs worldwide. The top three runs hold gold, silver and bronze, and a country can appear more than once. A higher accepted score can change the standings; equal scores keep the earlier achievement. The website loads the latest results each time you open it. Countries are player-selected, not verified nationality.
Do I need an account?
There is no Boulder Cup account or sign-in in the current game, and none is planned for the score-and-country leaderboard.
Does the game track my location?
The game does not request GPS access. Cloudflare can suggest an approximate country from your network request. You can choose your country in the game; the scoreboard does not verify nationality or residence.
Can I play offline?
You can climb offline and keep a local personal best. The shared scoreboard needs an internet connection. Runs started entirely offline do not submit a world score; interrupted uploads from online-started runs can be retried.
Where can I download it?
Boulder Cup is coming to iOS and Android. It is not yet publicly available. Verified App Store and Google Play links will appear here when it launches.
How much will it cost?
Pricing and any purchase options will be announced at launch. The relevant app-store listing will show the price before you download or buy.
How do I ask about my data?
